R&D Update #1 | CoPilot x AviatorJonah
Introduction
With the recent announcement of CoPilot x AviatorJonah, the R&D Team is bringing you the latest developer news!
What is CoPilot?
CoPilot is AviatorJonah's first product that will launch in 2025 (more on the date later). CoPilot is designed for the modern pilot. Aviation is constantly changing, and we want to make sure we are on the cutting-edge side of technology. Therefore, CoPilot will not only be your preflight planning tool, route planning, and more, but it will also be geared as a learning tool.
What do I mean by learning tool? Well... let's say you are planning a flight from Miami, FL to New Orleans, LA, and you are reading your High IFR route charts but you just can't remember what a symbol means. Well, overlaid on top of the chart will be "Ask CoPilot." This AI Tool is fully customized for aviation and will provide you with a complete, accurate, fully qualified answer that you can rely on. CoPilot will tell you where it found the information, how it found it, and how you can find the same information.
But let's say you are doing aircraft performance calculations and you have a forward CG and in-flight training, you remember the certain effects forward CG has but can't recall them; well, you can Ask CoPilot that as well.
CoPilot x AviatorJonah is bringing information to pilots in an organized, easy-to-reach manner.
But let's say you have Aviation-related questions that are not related to anything CoPilot has to offer, that's okay! You can go directly to a chat window and start asking questions. CoPilot will answer your questions and help point you to the right place so you can find it next time.
Completed Features?
What features have been completed:
- Pilot currency calendar & reminders (FAA)
- METAR & limited weather analysis
- Ask CoPilot (AI-driven chatbot)
- A few minor elements
WIP Features
Currently, we are working on bringing route analysis & planning, pilot currency reminders, sectionals, performance calculators, weather analysis tools, and more! All of these features are currently being developed and we are looking towards launching with all of those features, and more, fully functioning.
Beta Testing CoPilot
Eventually, we will need about 10-15 real-world users to try CoPilot for free. While you are beta testing for us, you automatically get the highest subscription plan paid for by AviatorJonah. Be on the lookout for our Roll Call for beta testers soon!
Release Timeline
Currently, we are aiming for a release date towards the mid-2025, but this will be announced at the beginning of April. Currently, we are aiming to get CoPilot to a v1.0.0 launch. What does that mean? CoPilot is currently at build stage v0.3.1 -> meaning we have various build phases to go through, as well as beta testing.
